Cape Verde is a young republic that became independent in the year 1975 and is located in the Atlantic Ocean facing Africa. It is an archipelago to the south of the Canary Islands of Spain, and to the west of countries like Senegal. It's population is around one million inhabitants and is formed by 16 cities.

The islands of Cape Verde are divided into two zones, Barlaventos and Sotaventos, two areas where you'll find the Islad of Sal which is the main toruist destination in the country and the only island with an international airport, or the Island of Santiago, one of the biggest where you'll find the capital of Cape Verde, Africa called Praia. Both of these islands are in the area called Macaronesia.

To arrive in Cape Verde you must know that the only International Airport is found on Sal Island the Amilcar Cabral. The islands form an african country with volcanic origins and an average temperature of 20-25 degrees celsius.

Cape Verde is a great place if you're looking for something different to do on your holidays. Sal Island for example is a paradise for wind and wave lovers that enjoy kitesurfing or windsurfing as well as surfing. The island of San Vicente and the city of Mindano are the most important ones, with it's shops, bars, restaurants and nightlife. Santiago Island that holds the capital Praia is a main interest point for tourism. All of these islands have developed an important tourist infrastructure to better accommodate those of you coming on holiday.
